Started in 1931, Love/Effron has a distinguished reputation in the
Dutchess/Ulster area.
For more than 65 years, the Love/Effron Fuel Oil Company has been
providing top-quality heating oil and services to homeowners and
businesses in the Dutchess/Ulster area.
Initially founded as the Effron Coal Company in 1902 by Jacob Effron,
the Effron Coal Company delivered coal to neighborhood families using
a horse and wagon. By the early 1930s, Jacob Effron's son, Morris
Effron, started Effron Oil Company as a successor to his father's
coal business. In 1954, a third-generation Effron, James W. Effron,
took over operations and continued to provide heating oil to homes
and families in Dutchess Country.
Just three years later, Love Oil Company was founded with "...no
money and no customers" by Donald P. Love. However, after developing
the catchy slogan, "Let Love Keep You Warm", Love Oil Company rapidly
began attracting customers and building a strong reputation.
Effron Oil Company and Love Oil Company continued to grow
independently until they merged in 1987. Today, Love/Effron is
recognized as the premiere home heating company in the Dutchess/Ulster
area. With more than 20 delivery trucks and over 70 employees, Love/Effron
offers home fuel delivery, 24-hour emergency service, brand name
equipment installations and expert tune-ups. In addition, Love/Effron
has the largest No.2 heating oil storage facility in the region -
more than eight million gallons in all.
